Lansing Chen : Founder of the Shofu Ikebana Association in Taiwan

The first month of the Lunar New Year is a time after the wet winds of winter depart and the  return of daily sunshine brings a renewed sense of energy, life and creativity. It is a time of celebration and paying respect to the essence of spring – new life. Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. In Japan, a preferred term for ikebana is kado, meaning “the way of flowers.” Kado also signifies the true spirit of ikebana, as a lifelong path of continual learning, which begins with its dependence on flowers.
