The five women profiled for this article all have very different life stories, yet they share one distinctive characteristic …courage. For some of the women, their visions have pushed them center stage and subject to the scrutiny of society. For others, their steadfastness and quiet resolve have helped to challenge stereotypes and social assumptions about individuals in less fortunate situations, especially those facing societal biases and prejudices. These are their stories and legacies to Taiwan.
